Minnetronix

Minnetronix, Inc. is a St. Paul-based designer, developer and manufacturer of medical devices. Blinc worked with Minnetronix for most of the firm's 10+ year history, helping develop the company's brand, graphic identity and most of it's print materials. This redesign of the Minnetronix site was undertaken to bring its look more in line with the brand Blinc helped it develop.

Responsibilities

  • Create information design and site architecture.
  • Design navigation scheme.
  • Work with graphic designer to create visual layout.
  • Manage project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Collect and reorder content to conform to new architecture.
  • Code page templates in HTML/CSS.
  • Build and deploy site.
  • Work with Minnetronix IT staff to coordinate new site with in-house infrastructure.
  • Train key Minnetronix staff on site design so it could be maintained and updated in-house.

Considerations

The visual design of the Minnetronix site was based on a brand and graphic identity Blinc developed with the company through the design of print pieces, a business system, a promotional Flash animation and trade show environment. The site was designed to augment the company's existing marketing efforts and provide potential partners and clients with more information on Minnetronix's capabilities and services.

The site's visual footprint (1020 px), although wider than preferred usability standards, was a client requirement.

In 2010 Minnetronix redesigned their site to take the management of it in house.
