GreatMinneapolis Real Estate
GreatMinneapolis Real Estate is a privately-owned agency based in South Minneapolis. Uniquely structured as a team of highly cooperative agents, the firm focuses on properties in and around the Twin Cities. Blinc designed and built a new website for GreatMinneapolis as part of the agency's effort to establish a uniform brand and more cohesive graphic identity.

Responsibilities
- Create information design and site architecture.
- Design navigation scheme.
- Work with graphic designer to create visual layout.
- Collect and reorder existing and new content to conform to new architecture.
- Manage project deadlines and deliverables.
- Code page templates in HTML/CSS.
- Coordinate with web services provider who provides the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) application built into the site.
- Redesign process flow to improve user experience in MLS portion of the site.
- Migrate site visual design and content onto service provider's content management system.
- Help GreatMinneapolis agent understand and maintain new site.
Considerations
GreatMinneapolis had a local web services provider with whom they were satisfied so I coordinated the redesign and launch of the new site with this vendor. We built the site based on the requirements of that vendor's content management system and worked with them to smooth out some functionality in the MLS to create a more intuitive user experience.
Since the agency wanted to take the lead on maintaining the site after launch, I worked with the agent responsible for the site to understand the principles of writing for the web and helped her create the content required for the new design.
GreatMinneapolis has since redesigned their website.
